I started with my first piano lesson aged six, and now I have over 10 years’ experience as a music educator! I am particularly proud of passing my DipABRSM performance diploma when I was 20 weeks pregnant with my son, back in 2013. I have an MA in Music from Bristol University; my dissertation focusing on the Worcestershire composer Julius Harrison. I have a BA in law from Oxford University and previously worked as a solicitor specialising in family law, before returning to my first love – the piano! I am fully DBS-checked and a member of the European Piano Teachers’ Association (EPTA) and Musicians Union. As well as teaching piano, I am a qualified classroom music teacher. My PGCE in Music is also from the University of Bristol, where I researched getting the most out of gifted and talented pupils. My teaching practices involved placements at Pates Grammar School, St Edward’s, and John Cabot Academy in Bristol. I have also taught pupils with behavioural difficulties in Worcestershire. I taught Music to GCSE level at Marling School in Stroud, up to December 2012. I have been a Visiting Teacher of Piano at Rendcomb College, since 2012, and I joined Berkhampstead School in Cheltenham in 2019. I joined the team at The Curious Piano Teachers in 2019 as their Community Manager. We are a truly global Community of piano teachers, who love to “learn as much as they teach!”
